L'Art Du Deplacement 1-Day Workshop with Chau Belle

Chau Belle is a lifetime movement artist. He currently runs Art Du Deplacement (ADD) Academy in Paris, France where they have multiple branches teaching a ton of classes, camps and doing performances. He is also pursuing his artistic life as an actor, choreographer and stunt-coordinator. The path that the Yamakasi have tread before us had led the way to a sounding wall that echoes words like Parkour and Freerunning. The wall is the way and they identify that way as being Art Du Deplacement. The art of movement.

It’s like the blended, experimental approach of other thought and movement leaders even before them. Taking what works, applying it, and putting the rest aside. The underlying essence has always been, “Be strong to be useful.” This energy is undeniably present when you’re around him.

Maybe you just heard about Parkour or Freerunning, or maybe you’ve been training for 10+ years. From beginners to advanced practitioners, spending a day with one of the founders of the discipline is a rare and unforgettable experience. This is also a great chance for those with certifications from organizations like A.D.A.P.T. and APEX Movement to acquire some knowledge from the source. With the innovation, endurance and dedication they bring to their sessions, it’s impossible not to leave feeling empowered and ready for anything.

This workshop will take place outdoors in Downtown Houston, TX. Saturday March 11 from 10am-4pm. $199.

P.S. As part of our Grand Opening Weekend there will also be an Open Gym Jam at Urban Movement on this night from 6-10pm. This will be a great chance for everyone to either unwind or keep training. There will be fun, food and community.
